As amateur communicators, we understand the importance of communication. With National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week upon us (April 10-16) we would like to thank those who serve the public as communicators every day. These people have the incredibly hefty job of truly being the first professional aware of an emergency. They must balance the task of sending life saving aid to an emergency with the task of keeping their field units safe and ensuring that everyone returns home to their families at the end of the shift.
The Wilson County Radio League would like to thank all of those in this often stressful and thankless job. Here’s to all the Dispatchers, Communications Officers, 911 Call Takers and all others who make a career of public safety communications!
I also wanted to take this opportunity to share this link for 911Cares and The 911Cares Store. 911Cares is a charitable organization committed to the emotional support and needs of dispatchers across the country. Profits from the 911Cares store go towards this worthwhile cause.
